Why am I required to login? Is my data saved on the cloud?
KeepTrack saves your data on the cloud, or more specifically on Google's servers. The reasons for doing so are:
- Keep your data safe in case of an accident. You would be surprised how many people loose or break their phones.
- Keeping the data in the cloud allows you to access it from all your devices and in the future also from the web, just login with the same account and the data is there.
- Cloud storage allows you to share parts of your data with other people. This is only done upon request and it not automatic.
We do not and never will share your data with anyone else without your explicit consent. To be even more specific this includes any third parties for advertising or any other commercial reason. You can always request for a complete deletion of the data on our servers and we will do so.
The login process is required for security purposes to make sure your data is accessed by you and only you.
How can I export the data to a spreadsheet app on my PC?
In order to pass your data to other applications (for example, a spreadsheet on your desktop) you can export it in one of several common formats. Note that this feature is not used for backups, if you want to backup or restore your data take a look at the backups option.
The export menu option is located in the backups screen at the top bar, once selected choose your preferred format and tap the export button. The exported file will be saved to the "KeepTrack/export" folder on the root of your SD card, for your convenience you can choose to email the file immediately after the export operation.

How do I use the Tasker integration?
Tasker is an automation app for Android which can use various triggers to perform actions. KeepTrack is a plugin of Tasker which means it can be used as an action from within Tasker.
The usage of Tasker is done by creating tasks which are lists of action to be performed, to add a KeepTrack action you need to select the "Plugin" category and KeepTrack should be listed there. Once KeepTrack is selected you can define the entry that will be created once the action is preformed by selecting the tracker, the default entry value and an optional note.
The plugin can also get a value from Tasker is you define a variable called %ENTRY_VALUE before the action is performed.
